4h stage of the HAWK EUROPEAN TOUR

Awadh Mohammed as the winner of the fourth stage of the Hawk European Tour.

The famous Bay66 skatepark in London played host to the 4th stage of the Hawk European tour.

What a stage it was with over 200 skaters coming through the doors to skate and to take part in the day’s events.

Registration was the busiest yet, in the end we could take no more entrants, the day was going to very busy.

The new layout at the skate park was only finished days earlier so was packed with skaters checking out the new lines and getting ready for the competition.

The under 14’s heats were up first and they did not disappoint with their skills.

Kyron Davis was ripping up the park with moves way beyond his years; this kid needs watching and will be a star in the future. Not far behind was tiny Alex De Cunha impressing the large crowd with consistent tricks.

After some strong runs the final came down to Kyron, Alex and Keran Andreoli.

Straight away they were pulling the big stuff, Keran started with an ollie off the big quarter to flat soon followed with the 180 to back it up, big shouts from the crowd filled the park with that one.

Alex kicked in with a nice 360 over the jump box, a sweet no comply finger flip and finished with a nice boardslide down the big ledge.

Kyron was not going to be outdone and started with a huge tuck knee over the jump box with the same move taking him over the big hip.

In the end it was effortless style and best use of the park that saw him become our winner of the under 14’s, well done.

Moving up to the over 14’s the talent was very high with so many moves going down it was hard to keep up. After some tough battles the final was between Awadh, Daryl Dominguez and Tom Knox.

Tom was getting tech with a nice tre flip, a big back tail revert and a clean krook down the big ledge.

Daryl was skating so high it was crazy with huge tuck knees over the driveway and his best move by far was a ridiculous kick flip Indy (sheckler eat your heart out).

Awadh was up against it but again showed his class with big airs including a 360 hip transfer, super fast back smiths and a trick that raised the noise even further, it looked like he was just taking an ollie over the Jersey barrier when in popped a late shuvit to really raise the game.

Much like Kyron, it was Awadh’s use of the park that saw him through as our winner.

The super final was on and it did not disappoint. Young Kyron was going to take on Awadh.

It was Kyron that took the early advantage hitting the park with big and consistent moves, Awadh took a bit more time to get in his stride but when he did it was evident this Skater is going places.

Time was called with a few minutes left as unfortunately Kyron took a fall that twisted his ankle. The judges conferred and made the closest call of the day giving the win to Awadh.

It was now the turn of the Hawk Boys to show their stuff to the crowd.

Gus was in straight away with big airs and shuvit tail grabs over the jump box, followed by some massive melon transfers over the big hip.

Jarne was his usual effortless self taking a super high 180 over the jump box that everybody loves to skate.

On the other side of the park Raf was hitting all sorts of moves down the ledges, nice skating guys.

Time for the prizes:

1st Awadh Mohammed

2nd Kyron Davis (carried out by his dad)

3rd Daryl Dominguez

4th Tom Knox

5th Alex De Cunha

6th Keran Andreoli

What followed was a product toss with everybody fighting to get their hands on all the Hawk goodies.

We hope to see you next year. In the meantime, we are looking forward to the next step at the Mostoles skatepark in Madrid (Spain) and in Anglet (France) on 22nd August for the Grand Final.

Thanks to all.
