SUNDAY 12/11/06 ZUMIEZ SKATEPARK
This Hawk contest was held specially for young skaters (under 14) to give them the possibility to compete in a professional contest for non-sponsored riders. Hawk wants to promote the sport to a maximum number of youngsters and most of them are not sponsored.
The facts

We had 150 enthousiasts and 31 participants in the contest: a big success! Lots of kids from the area (Flandres and North France), but also from Dinant and Mol.

Six groups of 5 skaters had a session which lasted 5 minutes. The best two in each session got through. Then 3 minutes of skating for 3 groups of 4 skaters.

The final saw the best three of each group battle it out.

4°: Florian Dercle, 14 from Lille
3°: Hans Borg, 14 form Lissewege
2°: Janton Dreze, 14 from Kortrijk
1°: Mathias Laga, 13 from Menen
They all received Hawk stuff and Mathias joins our Hawk Benelux Skate Tour in April.
