The collection fall/winter 2007 is available.
Awadh Mohamed is the big winner of the final of the Hawk European Tour.
Weather-wise, things got off to a very poor start: big black clouds, showers of rain etc.
At 11:30, after the press conference which took place in La Barre in Anglet, the decision was taken to relocate the event to the indoor skatepark in Biarritz.
At 2pm, before the final began, the general public were invited to an autograph signing by Tony Hawk !!! The crowds rushed in to get their skateboards, caps, posters etc. autographed by Tony Hawk himself.
We had to put back the start time of the final because the queue in the parking lot was so long.
At 3pm, Tony and his lovely wife climbed up onto the quarter pipe platform to join the judges, and then it all began:
a 15-minute “Best Line” jam, during which the winners stemming from the different European preselection stages, 5 in all, had to come up with the best series of 3 tricks in a row.
Then time for a quarter-hour break before getting back down to 15 minutes of “Best Trick”.
The public loved Benjamin Guillemot’s tailslide and lip transfers, but it was when Awadh slammed another perfect rodeoflip on the big quarter pipe that the thousand –strong crowd of spectators who had come to witness this event went wild: pure jubilation, the walls are still shaking with it…
Just after this red-hot final, the full Hawk Europe riders team put on a one-hour intensive demo, stoked by the presence of the master himself:
They covered every last corner of that skatepark, and when Tony Hawk entered on a Mac Twist, the crowd went from jubilant to plain old 1960’s Beatles concert euphoric!!!
This demo is going down history…Tony was 100% committed, with a varied range of tricks, contorted inverts like in the good old days, 360 flips and bleeding knees by the end of it all…
At the end of the day, it’s 16 year-old Londoner Awadh Mohamed, the successful rider of the Tour’s London heat and big winner at this final, who leaves with the top prize: a skateboarding trip to Los Angeles.
Ranking:
1-Awadh Mohammed (London-Uk)
2-Benjamin Guillemot (Nantes-France)
3-Liloye Richemont (Hossegor-France)
4-Juan Antonio Centenero Pulido (Madrid-Spain)
5-Nicola Giordano (Milan-Italy)
After the roller coaster ride of the day’s emotions, the whole team came together to celebrate at Mama Nature in Anglet. Food, DJ’s and a great atmosphere all in one place!!!
A great big thank-you goes to Tony Hawk, to all the skateparks where we were made so welcome during the Tour, to the town of Anglet, to our partners, cameraman, photographers, the riders, and to all those who participated, however and wherever, to this Tour…
Thanks to you all.
